Registered Nurse

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Affords nursing services to ensure high-quality resident care in a safe environment.
• Assists with activities of daily living, provides emotional and social support, and ensures resident comfort and wellbeing.
• Maintains communication between medical providers, family members, and facility team for coordinated care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Affirms resident conditions and monitors for changes, responding appropriately.
• Communicates resident needs or condition changes to physicians, families, and other staff.
• Reviews and updates resident care plans, documents actions, and coordinates care plans with other staff.
• Performs treatments such as dressing changes, catheter care, and medication administration.
• Documents interventions, responses, and complications.
• Communicates with physicians and family as necessary.
• Reports significant changes in resident condition to supervisors and physicians.
• Executes physician's orders, compiles information for physician reviews, and prioritizes care.
• Directly cares for residents, performs hygiene tasks, assesses skin needs, and communicates with shifts.
• Verifies narcotics counts, requests medications, enters new orders, and assists with training new staff.
• Provides backup assistance to other department personnel as needed.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience working with the elderly or disabled population groups preferred.
• Experience or training in behavior management or rehabilitative principles preferred.
• Previous experience in a lead role.
• Must have or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
