About the role
The ideal candidate will manage the medical care of individuals receiving support from The Arc Southern Chesapeake. Responsibilities include delivering care through the nursing process, interacting with clients, families, staff, and healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversees case management and delegates nursing tasks, including medication administration.
- Affirms HIPAA compliance regarding protected health information.
- Formulates a plan of care based on the nursing process and assesses individuals' conditions.
- Monitors and revises medication administration records (MARs), conducts 45-day monitoring, and completes monthly psychotropic and medication reviews.
- Trains staff on medication administration and other health-related topics.
- Counsels individuals on health issues and monitors data.
- Serves as a liaison between The Arc Southern Chesapeake and community facilities.
- Attends meetings related to the care of individuals receiving services.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Maryland.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer-based software.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Passing a criminal background check.
- An interest and ability to work with people with developmental disabilities.
