About the role
Working with the Division of Youth Services is more than it seems. You will be working with staff to create a safe, therapeutic, and educational environment for youth in our day treatment and residential programs.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement nursing assessments and health care plans
- Communicate clearly, honestly, and openly with residents and patients
- Teach and monitor the implementation of new information throughout the program
- Conduct CPR and First Aid classes for youth and staff
- Obtain and maintain certification as an American Red Cross and First Aid Instructor, HIV Counseling and Testing Certification
- Supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff
- Provide health care and hygiene instruction to youth, staff, and families
- Dispense medications to youth
- Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri’s Nurse Licensure compact
- 0-3 years of experience as a registered nurse
- Possession of a valid vehicle driver’s license

- Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions under general professional supervision

Pay
The current rate for this position is $2,697.37 semi-monthly. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Schedule
This is professional nursing work in the care and treatment of patients or residents in a facility of the Missouri Division of Youth Services. This position performs a variety of nursing functions; conducts or assists in the development of nursing assessments and health care plans, implementing health care plans, instructing residents and patients in performing personal health care, and performing preventative nursing care.
