About the role
The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending.
Responsibilities
- Performs nursing procedures, interventions and duties such as medication administration, assessment of client needs and skills.
- Develops and implements client-specific nursing care plans that assist in developing healthy independent living and coping skills.
- Works as part of larger care team providing clients with comprehensive treatment which includes completing health assessment reports, participating in review meetings, providing pertinent information to members of the treatment team as required to support overall client health.
- Coverage of other nursing staff as needed.
- Follow and enforce all security, safety and legal requirements to ensure a safe and secure facility so clients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment.
- Serving as a positive role model to clients, demonstrating effective professional and personal behavior.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota (or MN license eligible if coming from another state).
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience working within a mental health or behavioral health care setting preferred.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
