Requirements
- Obtains and records patients vital signs and weight
- Assists providers with patient examinations
- Performs medical procedures and wound care as needed
- Administers and documents medication administration and patient chart (oral and intramuscular injection)
- Collections urine, blood, and sputum specimens from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests
- Reviews providers’ orders, lab requests, and closes out tasks, and providers’ nurse buckets
- Interviews patients to determine medical problems and conditions, and documents in the chart for the provider
- Affixes patients with scheduling follow-up appointments
- Completes and submits prior authorizations for imaging, medication (Nexplanon, ParaGard, and other procedures) as needed
- Follows up on patient requests as ordered by the provider (e.g., medication refills, telephone inquiries from affiliated agencies, and other specialty providers)
- Maintains health department STD treatment lists and verifies records
- Communicates with affiliated agencies regarding test results and tracks consultation reports
- Supports chronic care management team
- Affixes new supplies and disposes of expired or damaged supplies
- Administers COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, and patient education
- Maintains medical equipment and monitors for inspection, expiration
- Affixes onboarding for new CAN’s, LPNs, and RN’s
- Supports community education programs and health fairs
- Administers incoordinated flu vaccine clinics
- Provides education to patients as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing as a registered nurse or one year of nursing experience in a community Health Center or allied health field environment
- One year certificate from college or technical school for a licensed graduate practical nursing, one year of practical experience in a community Health Center or an allied health field environment
- Active PA license
