Registered Nurse

About the role

The Department Same Day Surgery Shift Variable at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is a facility-based position. The Registered Nurse is accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and works closely with the surgeon and anesthesiologist.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting using the nursing process.
• Carefully coordinates the care of patients with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Directs and guides OR Technicians and other personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
• Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
• Maintains continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and unit maintenance and organization.
• Adheres to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as needed.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Skills

The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selection, based on a variety of factors including skillset, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $35.70 to $54.11 per hour.
