Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Treat patients, educate them about mental and medical conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
• Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint of patients.
• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, assist in performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results.
• Operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
• Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health and interdisciplinary treatment team processes.
• Complete Behavioral Violence Prevention training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification annually.

Requirements

• Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Experience with behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.

Schedule

Part-time, 24 hours per week, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM, day shift.
