Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to nursing staff to ensure high standards of care.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and assist in the training and evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor and manage patient progress, including changes in condition, and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with facility policies.
• Ensure that care practices and documentation meet regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Perform regular audits of patient records and care practices to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Address and resolve any patient or family concerns regarding care.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the nursing department and other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
• Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding care plans, treatment options, and progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and enhance patient care.
• Manage staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and handling any staffing issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Aid in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, providing critical care and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
• Conduct incident investigations and report findings as required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Nebraska.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
