Registered Nurse
About the role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will plan, coordinate, oversee and provide patient care in the operating room, preoperative and postoperative areas of the surgery center within state standards of practice and company policies. You will make decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicate appropriate information to other team members. You will assist with maintaining equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and efficiency of the surgery center.

Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate preoperative, intraoperative, and recovery nursing care for pediatric patients based on individual and specific patient needs.
- Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of medication administration and effects, patient assessment, arrhythmia detection, patient teaching, emotional/social support of patients and families, and other needed clinical competencies.
- Assist in completing medical assessments for patients scheduled for surgery in the next week and also assist in completing required documents and assessments of medical pending for potential patients.
- Complete all narcotic counts, code cart checks, temperature and humidity logs, and medication refrigerator temperature logs on a daily basis.
- See or call 100% of scheduled surgical patients prior to the day of surgery to identify preexisting conditions and to tell patients what to expect.
- Contact patients to complete post-operative calls in between patient care.
- Follow AORN standards for care of the perioperative patient.
- All other duties as deemed appropriate.
- Must have exceptional patient interaction skills and the ability to work in a child-friendly environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state in which you are working.
- Basic life support required upon hire.
- Advanced life support and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
- Must be available to travel between locations to meet operational needs.
Schedule
Monday-Friday rotating shifts: 0630-1500 or 0730-1600.
Pay
$41 - $41/hour
