Responsibilities
- Aid with and perform cardiac diagnostic testing, including EKGs, cardiac telemetry monitoring, blood work, and advanced imaging as necessary.
- Conduct patient intake, taking vital signs, gathering medical history, obtaining informed consent, and providing patient education.
- Maintain vigilance during testing, responding promptly to any emergent situations.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids for diagnostic procedures.
- Interpret EKG rhythms and recognize arrhythmias.
- Evaluate and triage patients, addressing urgent needs as required.
- Communicate test results and next steps according to provider direction.
- Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Support clinical coordination by triaging calls and responding to patient inquiries.
- Assist with providers and staff as needed.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted PA Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- At least 2 years of experience as an RN in Cardiology.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with an EMR system.
