Registered Nurse

Job Description

Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.

Safety and Compliance

• Adequate disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
• Ensures appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

Documentation and Training

• Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients.
• Educates patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course.
• Assists with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommends purchase of new items as needed.
• Trains new employees related to job duties according to JBIs.

Supplies and Travel

• Completes annual required safety and nursing trainings.
• Attends all mandatory staff meetings as necessary.
• Works at any Company location to help meet the Company’s business needs on an as-needed basis, within reasonable expectations.
• Works overtime when given sufficient notice.
• Travel:

Education and Certifications

• Nursing Degree.
• Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license.
• Certified CPR and BLS.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Experience and Skills

• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Strong critical thinking skills, ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
