Primary Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within scope of practice, including services supported by medically approved protocols, with/without provider encounter such as medication administration, and lab procedures
- Administer medications and vaccines; Perform phlebotomy and other lab processes
- Independently triages patients in person, on the phone, or through the patient portal utilizing protocols, guidelines and standards set by Allegro Pediatrics
- Uses critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards and resources
- Delegates selected patient care functions to others in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
- Process and approve patient prescription refills per Allegro standing ordering guidelines
- Communicate appropriate information to providers and other health team members in a timely manner
- Collaborate with all clinic staff and clinic manager
- Promote atmosphere of patient care and customer service excellence, respecting patient rights, confidentiality, diversity, and developmental needs
- Participate in committee and quality improvement activities as requested
- Manage nurse room appointments
- Obtain patient x-rays after appropriate training performed at Allegro
- Perform Medical Assistant duties and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Prior Pediatrics experience a plus but not required
- Current WA State Registered Nurse License
- Current AHA CPR certificate. Will accept PALS, PEARS, or ACLS in lieu
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal/people skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced patient focused environment with ongoing changes
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all clinics as staffing needs change
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Background check
- Drug testing in compliance with Washington State Bill 5123 for this safety-sensitive position
- To uphold safety for all employees and patients, we continue to require vaccination status for all new hires, including remote or hybrid schedules, at time of hire and annually
- Current COVID vaccine annually, or as newly released
- We require flu immunizations at time of hire and annually
- Variety of other immunization requirements that we can discuss during your interview
- All employees are currently required to wear a surgical, KN95 or N95 mask at all times while in clinic, patient facing
Education
- Associate’s degree in nursing Required. Bachelors, preferred.
Schedule
- 4/10’s, 4 days a week with 10 hours shifts
- 40 hours per week
- Wednesday's Off
- Schedules are built out 2 months in advance
- Employees are required to work (or be back up/on call) one weekend day per month
- Also required to work one holiday each year
- Weekend and holidays include additional compensation differentials
