About the role

The Registered Nurse at Recovery Village Atlanta (RVA) plays a crucial role in the care and education of patients dealing with addiction, substance abuse, and mental health issues. RVA is a 62-bed professional addiction treatment facility offering medical detox, inpatient treatment, outpatient care, and aftercare.

Responsibilities

• Establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families
• Completing appropriate documents within the required timeframe after admission to the program
• Maintaining medical records
• Administering medications as indicated and monitoring detoxification process
• Transcribing Physician orders and implementing all Medical Protocols as ordered
• Conferencing with and assisting medical personnel, both internal and external resources
• Providing documentation reflecting services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards
• Absessing the medical and psychiatric needs of the patient, determining the urgency of their needs, and expediting treatment
• Educating patients about medications, health issues, and medical conditions
• Taking verbal orders from the medical provider, documenting them in the patient record, and carrying them out accurately and professionally
• Providing routine nursing care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing

Requirements

• Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• Licensed to practice in the State of Georgia required
• Minimum two years' experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
• Behavioral health experience preferred
