Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Oncology - Per Diem Days

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will function as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes. This role focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, providing effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. You will direct and oversee care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination, while effectively coordinating patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices according to the most up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and excellent individualized patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient status, care, and treatment plans.
• Administer medications utilizing the latest advancements in bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe medication delivery.
• Perform ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions, and evaluation of rendered care.
• Provide patient and family-centered education aimed at optimizing health, wellness, and disease management.
• Facilitate multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continuum of care.

Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification.
• Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
• One (1) year of nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Oncology certification preferred.
• Bio/Chemo certification preferred.

Pay

The minimum starting rate of pay for this role is $43.77 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Full-time and part-time positions (20+ hours/week) may be eligible for additional compensation elements, including shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
