About the role

This is a PM/NOC shift position. The shift is 12 hours long, starting at 6PM and ending at 6AM.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures clinical trials are conducted according to protocol requirements.
  • Obtains and accurately documents structured subject medical, surgical, and medication history.
  • Performs meal administration and subject bag checks.
  • Performs study activities such as ECG positioning, exercises, or other study procedures requiring supervision of subjects.
  • Performs venipuncture, capillary, and/or IV specimen collection, maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Administers study drugs and other protocol-required medications, ensuring the 5 Rights of Medication Administration.
  • Performs dose verification and assists with dose administration.
  • Contributes to secure and appropriate storage of drug supplies.
  • Records and documents subject Adverse Events and performs physical measurements.
  • Participates in quality assurance of clinical research projects.
  • Performs additional tasks as delegated and supervised by Charge Staff.

Qualifications

  • Current RN or LPN License.
  • BLS certification required within 6 months of hire or promotion date.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language.
  • Good computer skills; inclination to adopt technology to maximize efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work beyond normal work hours and various shift availability required.
  • Ability to perform and record data entry via computer systems while conducting timed clinical procedures.

Additional Charge Information

  • Medical background required, with skill set appropriate for role.
  • Must be trained (or in-training) as Clinical Research Technician - Advanced or Clinical Research Nurse - Advanced.
  • Has demonstrated effective professionalism, leadership, and problem-solving skills as clinical floor staff for approximately 6 months at Spaulding Clinical, OR exceptional outside experience (previous charge, supervisory and/or leadership position) that would translate to a Charge role immediately upon hire.
  • CPR certification required within one year of hire or promotion date.
  • Absolute requirement for ACLS certification within one year of hire or promotion date.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision both near and far.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
