Registered Nurse - Adult Medicine
About the role
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Adult Medicine department at Urban Health Plan, stationed at our El Nuevo San Juan Health Center in the Bronx, NY. As an RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing support and patient care in an outpatient primary care setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse license, required.
- All experience levels are welcome to apply, whether this is your first role as a nurse or you are a seasoned professional.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
- Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, and team-driven attributes are essential.
- Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
- Previous training and exposure to internal medicine and adult-based health services.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients and assist patients with their needs based on acuity.
- Provide quality nursing care and medication administration.
- Administer immunizations/vaccines to specified patients and monitor patient reactions and side-effects.
- Assist care team with pre-visit planning for high-risk patients.
- Ensure implementation of plans of care.
- Act as a role-model and source of nursing guidance to medical assistants on the team.
- Assist with prepping patients as needed and provide patient education.
- Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
- Ensure proper sterilization procedures using germicides, sterilizers, or autoclave.
- Ensure departmental adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
- Maintain health records by documenting patient contact and updating patient profiles.
- Implement standing orders.
- Check equipment, logs, and medical kits.
- Assist with ordering medical supplies, medications, and vaccines.
Pay
Starting compensation: $82,560 – $98,560 per year, contingent on degree and experience level.
Schedule
Onsite in the Bronx, NY. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with rotating Saturday shifts and a day off during the week (Monday to Friday).
