The Medical University of South Carolina Admit-Transfer Center is a dedicated and skilled team managing admissions and transfers across 16 hospitals in South Carolina.
About the Role
This role facilitates patient transfers to MUSC hospitals from various facilities, collaborating with Patient Placement representatives and applying nursing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient transfers to MUSC hospitals from MUSC and non-MUSC facilities.
- Collaborate with Patient Placement representatives and act as a clinical resource and facilitator.
- Utilize technology for multi-faceted communications and apply nursing knowledge.
- Direct transfers, admissions, and bed requests from inpatient, outpatient, clinics, pre-admits, and requests for cardiovascular and medical/surgical services.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Qualifications
- 5 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Leadership experience, including Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager preferred.
- Experience with EPIC and patient flow/throughput in a call center environment preferred.
Skills
Nursing knowledge derived from education and experience, ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs., working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, and working in a latex-safe environment.

Pay
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
12-hour shifts per week, 11am - 11pm, rotating.
