Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
- Monitor vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall patient status, responding promptly to changes or emergent conditions.
- Identify and manage co-occurring medical conditions that may impact detoxification or stabilization.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered to manage withdrawal symptoms and medical concerns.
- Provide evidence-based nursing care to promote patient safety, comfort, and stabilization.
- Offer patient education and supportive communication related to detoxification, recovery, and treatment expectations.
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, and other team members to support individualized treatment plans.
- Communicate clearly and professionally regarding patient status, concerns, and care needs.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience in addiction treatment, detoxification, or acute behavioral health settings strongly preferred.
- Solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing and management of co-occurring medical conditions.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-stress situations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient dignity, and recovery-oriented care.
