About the role

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical/Telemetry unit. This is a full-time day shift position offering up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The unit manages a diverse adult patient population with complex medical conditions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that values critical thinking, prioritization, teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration, professional autonomy, and bedside nursing expertise.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation) and adhering to standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is a Certified Primary Stroke Center with 145 licensed beds, featuring the latest healthcare technologies including emergency heart catheterization, all-inclusive single-room obstetrics care, advanced imaging, and “smart” operating rooms. Responsibilities

• Assess and admit patients
• Perform rounding checks
• Administer medications
• Communicate with family members
• Assume overall responsibility for patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure best care outcomes

Requirements

Experience

• Previous RN experience preferred
• New graduates welcome (up to $7,500 bonus); starting pay for new graduate RNs with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour

Education

• RN Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN

Certifications & Licensure

• RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS certification within 90 days of hire

Pay

Base pay range for full-time employment: $41.93 – $61.01 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range varies based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
