About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a variety of complex patients under the guidance of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Achieve desired outcomes through comprehensive patient assessment, development of care plans, and ongoing communication with patients and families.
• Administer medications safely using advanced technologies and document care accurately.
• Coordinate patient care and transitions, ensuring safe and seamless handoffs between departments.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs and cultural considerations.
• Respond to clinical changes and unexpected responses to care by initiating appropriate interventions and reporting ethical concerns.
• Adapt to new protocols and continue professional development to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma of Nursing, with BSN in progress within three years of hire.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in the Nurse Residency Program.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate strong teamwork and patient-focused care.
• National certification in area of specialty preferred.
