Registered Nurse 6A-6:30P

About the role

MEDIKO is seeking Registered Nurses for a multidisciplinary day team. Positions are available for Day Shift 6A - 6:30PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by conducting initial medical screenings and assessments, administering prescribed medications, treatments, and medical interventions, and monitoring patient progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans and ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards.
• Educate patients on health conditions and provide post-care instructions.
• Assume leadership roles in the absence of higher-level management, overseeing day-to-day operations of the nursing team and ensuring proper patient care delivery.
• Supervise and assist LPNs and nursing assistants in patient care tasks, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and best practices.
• Ensure medical equipment and supplies are appropriately stocked, maintained, and functioning properly; report any issues to facility management.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes within the facility.

Requirements

• A current, valid state Registered Nurse license.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional healthcare or similar environment.
• Experience in roles that involve direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
