About the Role

This is a full-time position located at the Main Campus, within the 3WEST department. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift (0645-1915).

As part of this role, you will provide patient care through assessment and implementation of the nursing process for all age groups on the unit. You will perform and assist with procedures, document care, and coordinate the patient’s plan of care with physicians and other disciplines. You will also maintain an atmosphere that aligns with SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and implement the nursing process for patients of all age groups.
  • Perform and assist with medical procedures.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
  • Coordinate the patient’s plan of care with physicians and other healthcare disciplines.
  • Ensure adherence to SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, and policies.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in the State of Georgia.
  • CPR certification.
  • One (1) year of experience in a related specialty area preferred.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to assess and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong clinical nursing skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide care for a diverse patient population, including those exhibiting stressed behaviors.
  • Proficiency in operating clinical equipment, computers, telecommunication devices, and patient information systems.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily works in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Requires considerable standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, and lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.).
  • May be exposed to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • Occasional assistance with patient transport to another facility.
  • Physical functional capacity classified as "very heavy" per the Saunders Method for healthcare workers.
