Registered Nurse - 3E, Intermediate Care Unit
About the role
Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse for its general pediatrics stepdown unit in Wilmington, Delaware. This position is full-time, 72 hours biweekly, 12-hour rotating shifts, with every third weekend and holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients requiring post-operative care for urological issues, traumatic injuries, and general surgery.
- Care for patients with acute and end stage renal disease and those needing intermediate level of nursing care due to tracheostomy and/or ventilator needs.
- Manage special equipment such as infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, BiPap respirators, oxygen delivery methods, PCA & epidural pumps, wound vacutainers, ventilators, and specialty beds.
- Provide care using nursing competencies including chest tube management, pain management, blood product administration, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and central line care and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree must be completed within three years.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- At least 6 months of nursing experience required.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
- Eligible for or have current Delaware nursing license.
- Have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
