Position: Registered Nurse

About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for direct care and support for clients with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual and developmental disorders in our psychiatric services department. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to clients with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual and developmental disorders.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by a physician.
  • Document client progress and interactions accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding privacy and HIPAA.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in both verbal and written form.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Degree
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Michigan
  • Knowledge of biological factors in mental illness
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric medications
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws regarding privacy and HIPAA
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology in a mental health setting
  • Ability to work independently and make independent judgments and decisions based on professional knowledge
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with clients and in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred

Qualifications

  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, data entry, and email

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and make independent judgments and decisions based on professional knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred

Pay

$30.34 - $40.22 per hour, final job offer based on internal equity, skills, education, experience, and credentials.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm

No weekends, on call, or holiday requirements.

Assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
