About the role
The position involves providing safe, quality care to patients utilizing the nursing process as the basis for clinical practice. The department covers any patient care area.
Responsibilities
- Affirms patient safety and quality care through the nursing process.
- Makes staff assignments based on patient acuity, continuity of care, and staff competency.
- Mentors and trains new and agency staff.
- Functions as a clinical resource and leader.
- Maintains awareness of Joint Commission standards, state codes, and practice acts.
- Maintains fiscal responsibility by monitoring and adjusting staffing during shifts.
- Evaluates and provides adequate coverage for breaks.
- Communicates and collaborates with bed placement and clinical resources to ensure clinical placement is expedited.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington.
- Successful completion of a graduate nurse residency program orientation or six months' experience as a Registered Nurse.
- AHA BLS for healthcare providers required.
