Location: Bolivar, TN – Western Mental Health Institute, Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (2 positions available). Official transcripts and a criminal background check are required prior to employment. This is an on-site, full-time position.

About the Role

Under general supervision, this position involves registered nursing duties of average difficulty in various settings, including institutions, clinics, hospitals, or home care. Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. Work schedules may include days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and procedures according to physician orders and nursing protocol, including administering medication, evaluating side effects, and tracking drugs and instruments.
  • Maintain health care equipment and supplies.
  • Perform basic life support, CPR, and participate in emergency response settings.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, collecting health history data and performing diagnostic tests on specimens.
  • Compare assessment data to established ranges to identify abnormalities and determine the effectiveness of patient goals and interventions.
  • Document, complete, and maintain patient health and medication records, adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Explain tests, procedures, and results to patients, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Educate patients, families, groups, and others on health care plans.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • A valid motor vehicle operator license may be required.
  • Must meet State of Tennessee driver standards if driving is involved:
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • No DUI, reckless driving, or license suspension for moving violations in the past five years.
    • No more than 4 moving violations in the past five years.

Pay

Monthly salary: $4,562.00 – $6,825.00
Annual salary: $54,744.00 – $81,900.00
