About the role

The CCU Registered Nurse (RN) at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME, provides direct, high-quality patient care to adults with cardiac conditions in the Coronary Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults in the CCU, including monitoring cardiac status and implementing interventions.
• Apply the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Maintain CCU standards of care, patient safety, and confidentiality.
• Communicate promptly with physicians and healthcare teams regarding clinical changes, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac disease processes, treatments, and care plans.
• Supervise and collaborate with other nursing personnel.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
