About the role
The position involves independently performing a range of nursing duties, including conducting assessments, preparing and implementing care plans, monitoring health status, and providing clinical supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conducts nursing assessments and records health information and vital signs.
- Prepares, implements, and modifies nursing care plans; assists with examinations and treatments; administers medications and nursing procedures.
- Monitors individuals' symptoms, conditions, and care; identifies and reports changes in health status.
- Serves as a nursing representative on treatment teams; provides information on nursing needs; consults and coordinates with other health care disciplines.
- Makes clinical rounds to assess nursing care needs; participates in the provision of nursing services.
- Provides health teaching, counseling, and education; develops health improvement programs.
- Implements infection control protocols; provides consultation and instruction to staff.
- Maintains and updates charts, records, and documentation; collects data for medical research.
- Maintains inventory standards for medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervises Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff in completing nursing tasks; acts as liaison to outside agencies.
- Delegates responsibilities; evaluates nursing services; provides information to supervisors; prepares or contributes to reports and evaluations.
Requirements
Must have a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Skills
Nursing, healthcare administration, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills are required.

From $96,147 to $105,138 annually.
