Areas of Primary Responsibility
- Maintains the Medication Management Program.
- Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents.
- Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or completion of other application or administration techniques.
- Monitors and reports complications, symptoms, and side effects of medications.
- Determines and documents the effectiveness of medications.
- Documents refusals of medications and reasons for non-administration.
- Stores medications safely and accurately.
- Maintains accountability of medications throughout the process.
- Documents daily shifts and medication updates.
- Demonstrates safe handling of controlled substances.
- Inspects, cleans, and audits equipment and supplies.
- Obtains and records vital signs during medication administration.
- Restocks and reorders resident medications.
- Documents pertinent information in the resident record.
- Communicates with residents, staff, and others accurately and factually.
- Provides verbal encouragement and support to residents.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
- Ability to lift, stoop, carry, turn, and assist high-risk residents.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible work schedule.
- Continuous sitting, standing, bending, and moving during work hours.
- Able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
- Medium risk for exposure to COVID due to direct care to potential COVID-positive residents.
Qualifications
- Successfully completed course work and examinations for certification as a Resident Care Associate.
- Maintain certification as an RMA through continuing education credits.
- Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques and competency skills evaluation.
- CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain as per company policy.
- Understanding and practicing resident confidentiality.
- The ability to work weekends and flexible hours.
- The ability to show sincere compassion and genuine concern for residents and their families.
- Proficiency in basic office equipment, including a personal computer.

Pay
Pay range: $18-$22 per hour.
