Pro Social Partners are partnering with North Star Children's Homes to recruit a Registered Manager for their residential children's homes in Winkfield, Berkshire. North Star is a growing provider supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

About the role

As Registered Manager, you will hold registration with Ofsted and take overall responsibility for the homes' care, compliance, and quality standards. You will lead, develop, and supervise staff teams, building a stable and child-centred culture. The role involves ensuring care planning, risk management, and safeguarding practice meet the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will manage admissions, matching, and transitions to ensure placements are right for the children, and work closely with placing authorities, schools, health partners, and families. Driving continuous improvement in preparation for Ofsted inspection is key.

Responsibilities

  • Hold Ofsted registration and ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Lead and develop staff teams, fostering a child-centred culture.
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, and safeguarding practices.
  • Manage admissions, matching, and transitions for children.
  • Collaborate with placing authorities, schools, health partners, and families.
  • Drive continuous improvement for Ofsted inspections.

Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
  • Experience with Ofsted registration and inspections.
  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted framework.
  • Child-centred leadership style with resilience to manage complexity and risk.
