Registered Dietitian II- Culinary and Nutrition Orange- FT Day Shift
About the role
The Dietitian II at UCI Health provides nutrition assessments, diagnosis, intervention, and education to inpatients and outpatients. They assist in developing, evaluating, and revising hospital nutrition policies and procedures, monitor for potential drug nutrient interactions, participate in patient conferences and unit rounds, plan and coordinate staff meals, and manage patient, staff, and public food service operations.
If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0-21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire. The Dietitian II attends discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to their discipline. Non-CSS paneled dietitians are supervised by the CSS paneled dietitian for the care provided to children aged 0-21.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics with registered dietitian eligibility established on or after January 1, 2024, or Bachelors degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics with registered dietitian eligibility established prior to January 1, 2024
- Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of California
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare/clinical environment beyond the completion of the American Dietetic Association internship
- Completed American Dietetic Association Internship
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated understanding of therapeutic and normal nutrition, with the ability to develop care plans for patients
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Completed training for infant and child care if applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics for registered dietitian eligibility established prior to January 1, 2024
- Demonstrated prior experience teaching and overseeing dietetic interns or other students
