The Spring Grove Hospital Center, located in Catonsville, MD, is seeking a Dietitian/Nutritionist to provide clinical dietetic services to patients. The ideal candidate must hold a current license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice and be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
About the role
This position plays a crucial role in the mental health facility, focusing on nutritional care for patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing dietary plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dietary plans for patients
- Monitor and evaluate patient nutritional status
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure nutritional needs are met
- Conduct nutritional assessments and provide counseling
- Train staff on proper nutrition practices
- Stay updated with the latest nutritional research and trends
Requirements
- Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians
- Experience: One year of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services
- Licenses, Registrations and Certifications: Current license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice and registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Qualifications
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Dietitian and Nutritionist classifications or Dietitian and Nutritionist specialty codes in the Dietitian field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
Skills
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietetics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
