Registered Dietitian, Clinical Nutrition-Richland (Full-time, Days)

Job Summary

Responsible for providing nutrition care and education to patients and/or caregiver(s).

Evaluates patients' nutritional status, develop and implement care plans, assess nutrient requirements, recommends nutrition prescriptions, evaluates patient tolerance and effectiveness, as well as communicates information to physicians and other health care professionals.

Essential Functions

• Coordinates, reviews, plans, updates, and implements medical nutrition therapy to patients according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge and compliance with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
• Makes rounds, provides nutrition education to patients, caregivers, staff and community partners.
• Serves as a preceptor for medical, dietetic and food service interns and/or clinical research.
• Participates and serves on interdisciplinary team meetings, patient rounds, multidisciplinary committees and/or discharge planning.
• Affords assistance with performance and quality improvement projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Experience: No previous experience required

In Lieu Of

• If hired on or prior to December 31, 2023, must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics AND Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• Registered Dietitian state licensure (i.e.: SC LLR)
• Registered Dietitian licensure from the CDR

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years
• Interpret data, teach, communicate to other healthcare professionals, manipulate numbers and write in medical record
