About the role
The Registered Dietitian (RD) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team at Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI), a leading nonprofit dialysis provider. DCI's mission is to prioritize individualized care for patients facing chronic kidney disease, emphasizing a holistic approach that includes hemodialysis, home dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with making diet and nutrition choices that improve their quality of life
- Complete comprehensive nutrition assessment for all new and at-risk patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and patient to develop and implement individualized care plans based on nutritional assessment; review monthly and document progress toward established goals
- Identify specific interventions necessary to meet nutritional needs based on evidence-based guidelines, best practices and current research
- Maintain regular communication with care team, including attending physicians, to share kidney disease and nutrition advances
- Monitor monthly laboratory results and weight changes, make recommendations to meet established goals
- Utilize a patient-centered care approach, respecting and responding to individual and cultural preferences while encouraging engagement
- Participate in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement process, documenting and attending meetings per clinic policy
- Create and compile nutrition materials to promote adherence to renal diet guidelines
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Minimum one year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (after successful completion of registration exam)
- Previous renal care experience preferred, not required
Skills
Successful candidates bring excellent communication skills, demonstrated clinical proficiency, and a desire to collaborate with care teams. They must also have the ability to problem solve and utilize a patient-centered care approach.

Schedule
Per-Diem, approximately 10-12 hours per week
