Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational EnglishBasic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft OfficeComprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapyGeneral knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet softwareAbility to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.Avails self to staff on units as the nutrition expertParticipates in Quality Improvement activitiesAttends interdisciplinary meetings and rounds on assigned units as scheduled unless valid excuse demonstratedAttends assigned team and/or committee meetings unless valid excuse demonstratedAssists in regulatory survey preparation when applicableReviews and/or updates department resource/reference materials when applicable or [Required]When confronted with barriers to meeting patient care standards, improves process by planning and implementing action stepsIdentifies specific patient or staff needs, initiates and develops educational or clinical materials then evaluates outcomesAssures that care delivered to each patient is in accordance with established standardsSkill and knowledge in working with an electronic health record systemAnalyzes and interprets reliable assessment data to identify an actual occurrence, risk of, or potential for developing a nutrition problemNutrition Diagnoses/Problems are included on the patient care plan and updated as more data becomes available, or signed off as applicableProvides appropriate intervention in accordance with the identified patient’s goalsIdentifies and follows through with potential complex discharge planning needs, intervenes early to promote timely attainment of goalsAdheres to reassessment timeframe per standardsReassesses and updates nutrition care process and implement changes as indicatedComplies with National Patient Safety Goals regarding abbreviation usage, patient identificationAssessment, interventions, and procedures utilizing equipment are appropriate for the age groupUnderstands indications for nutrition support therapy (both enteral and parenteral) and applies recommendations appropriately Education Bachelor's [Required]Master's [Preferred] Field Of Study in nutrition or related field Work Experience 3+ experience in a clinical setting [Required]Didactic program with strong focus in clinical nutrition [Preferred] Additional Information dditional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
