OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our interdisciplinary team at our skilled nursing facility in Rock Port, Missouri. About the Role
As our Registered Dietitian, you'll play a vital role in assessing residents' nutritional needs, developing individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for new admissions and as required by regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
- Conduct resident interviews to obtain food preferences and complete Resident Food Profiles.
- Update resident food preferences in the dietary management/tray card system.
- Monitor residents for changes in nutritional status, weight, skin integrity, hydration, and swallowing concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, speech therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize resident outcomes.
- Recommend therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions based on physician orders and clinical needs.
- Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff.
- Participate in care plan meetings and quality assurance/performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations related to dietary services.
- Review and monitor meal service for quality, accuracy, and resident satisfaction.
- Assist with regulatory surveys and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Refer residents with specialized nutritional concerns for additional evaluation as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Licensed Dietitian in the State of Missouri (or eligible for licensure)
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets, and medical nutrition therapy
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric nutrition
- Experience with PointClickCare or other electronic health records
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process
