Registered Dental Hygienist

About the role

Smile New York Outreach is a school-based mobile dental practice seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Bronx and Manhattan, NY and surrounding areas. The program offers a workday ending with the school day and no nights or weekends, making it ideal for those seeking a diverse and different working environment.

Responsibilities

• Aid in oral health management of all patients, being a team player at all times.
• Verify the identity of patients using name and date of birth before administering treatment, initialing the medical chart upon verification.
• Conduct oral health assessments, scaling, sealant application, and fluoride application.
• Provide oral hygiene services and dental assistance as directed by the dentist.
• Offer oral health education and individual counseling to each patient.
• Document provided dental services on the patient's chart.

Requirements

• Active RDH license with 1+ years' experience.
• Valid State ID and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work well with both children and adults.
• Organized and detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking.
• Able to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification with hands-on live skills assessment.
• Able to walk several flights of stairs occasionally.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel locally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of standard oral health care practices (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing).
