About the role

Toothsavers is a School Based Sealant Program providing mobile oral health care to children in their schools. As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide oral screenings, fluoride treatments, sealants, oral health education, and dental referrals directly in schools. You will be equipped with all necessary mobile equipment and accompanied by an administrative assistant to assist with charting and retrieving children from classrooms.

The ideal candidate is kind, patient, skilled, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to making a difference in the community. This role offers a more independent work environment outside of a traditional office and is less physically demanding than routine hygiene work.

Toothsavers operates only during school days and is on hiatus during all school holidays. Typical workdays are from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oral screenings
  • Apply fluoride varnish
  • Place dental sealants
  • Provide basic oral health instruction (OHI)
  • Follow universal precautions and CDC infection control methods

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Washington state Registered Dental Hygienist license
  • CPR certification
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience

Pay

Salary range for this position is up to $54/hour, plus bonus opportunities and travel pay.

Toothsavers of Washington has been providing preventive oral health care to Eastern Washington school children since 2010. The program serves over 170 preschools, elementary, and middle schools, aiming to provide access to oral health for all children in the community.
