Job Responsibilities

  • Presents confusing or conflicting guidance to the supervisor for clarification.
  • Promotes the company's growth and success by contributing to the positive culture in accordance with the company's core values, mission, and vision.
  • Affirms each operatory is cleaned and sanitized, stocked with necessary instruments and supplies, and is ready for patients before the patient is greeted and escorted to the operatory.
  • Maintains focus on the patient experience, particularly with new patients, ensuring they have a great patient experience.
  • Communicates with patients and helps make sure they are comfortable and feel like they're welcomed and appreciated.
  • Reviews patient history and documents in the chart.
  • Maintains accurate dental charts and findings.
  • Takes radiographs (x-rays) in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assists clinicians in providing treatment.
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
  • Prepares for and takes alginate impressions as necessary.
  • Provides comprehensive post-operative dental instructions to patients (as directed by the clinician).
  • Efficiently works with various clinicians.
  • Affirms trays are correctly set up for the scheduled procedure.
  • Assists other dental assistants, hygienists, and office staff as needed to assure smooth patient flow.
  • Prepares lab cases for the following day's schedule and assures the cases are complete and ready.
  • Affirms cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of instruments, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assists in dental/medical emergencies as necessary.
  • Sterilizes instruments and disinfects operatories between patients.
  • Enters dental supply orders into the order system for review/approval.
  • Addresses problems and recommends effective solutions with the work supervisor at the appropriate time and place.
  • Cross trains to assist with other job roles as needed.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Mets the standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Schedules patients for appointments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and some college.
  • Completion of a dental assistant school or training program.
  • 1+ years experience as a dental assistant.
  • CPR certification.
  • Radiograph/x-ray certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Enjoys multi-tasking.
  • Motivated, friendly, and energetic.
