Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Responsibilities:
    • Supervises and trains new and current Back Office employees.
    • Reviews charts daily in Open Dental, ensuring accurate information.
    • Solves daily audits by facilitating corrections or identifying responsible parties.
    • Works with Practice Manager to facilitate back office staff schedules.
    • Enforces, reviews, and applies CHOICE Healthcare Services' policies.
    • Maintains office flow and patient wait times.
    • Utilizes downtime for recovery, opening bays, and sterilization.
    • Schedules and tracks hours for externships and new employees.
    • Supports interns with training and evaluations.
    • Works with HR and Practice Manager to coordinate OSHA responsibilities.
  • RDA Responsibilities:
    • Assists the doctor in procedures.
    • Takes x-rays.
    • Takes IO's.
    • Aids in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
    • Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
    • Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor.
    • Sterilizes instruments.
    • Sets up and breaks down treatment/hygienic rooms.
    • Prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
    • Charts patient's treatment and treatment plan with the doctor.

Qualifications

  • Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • One year of dental back office lead or supervisory experience.
  • California Registered Dental Assistant License.
  • X-Ray Certification.
  • Coronal Polish Certification, preferred.
