About the role
Assists Dentist or Dental Hygienist in the performance of their duties and keeps records and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assists with duties as outlined by the Dental Board of California’s RDA allowable duties.
- Schedules appointments for patients and maintains records of admissions, examination results, dental work performed, and patient visits.
- Maintains dental operatory, lab, and equipment in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition.
- Provides dental health information to the public and staff.
- Prepares and arranges dental instruments, equipment, and accessories for use; sterilizes and cares for instruments.
- Monitors supply inventory and orders supplies as needed.
- Assists in the dental laboratory and coordinates/organizes dental lab patient cases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with possession of required licenses or certifications, is qualifying.
- Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience: Two years as a Registered Dental Assistant with clinical experience in a community health environment.
Pay
Pay range: $42.20 – $52.21 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, collective bargaining agreements, and operational needs.
