Registered Charge Nurse - CW Pediatrics - Children's and Women's Hospital

Responsibilities

• Serves as preceptor for new employees and nursing students.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients.
• Plans individual care, identifies expected outcomes, implements and evaluates nursing interventions for patients and families.
• Maintains clinical competencies and accepts patient assignments as needed to support safe and effective patient care.
• Performs therapeutic procedures and assists with diagnostic procedures required for the care of the patient.
• Prepares and administers medications as ordered by physician, accompanies physicians on rounds.
• Works as a team leader for all patients assigned to a specific team on an assigned shift.
• Assists in the development and participation in-service training programs with subordinate personnel.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the state of Alabama.
• 1 year of professional nursing experience.
• Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
