BEAM Elementary School, Danbury, CT
Major Responsibilities & Requirements
- Provide patient and supportive instructional assistance to students with diverse academic and behavioral needs
- Experience with implementation of a Behavior Intervention Plan
- Identify areas and possible solutions to maximize the fidelity of data collection and of implementation of interventions
- Collection and ongoing maintenance of behavioral and instructional data
- Proactive communication and collaboration with the school team
- Strong understanding of the barriers to learning for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a proven ability to apply positive reinforcement techniques to bridge developmental gaps
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have taken and passed the ParaPro s or have 2 years post-secondary education (minimum 60 credits) or Associates Degree or higher
- Must hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or be willing to immediately participate in coursework and training to become an RBT
- Excellent professionalism and communication skills
- Consistent attendance is an essential function of this position
- Prior experience working directly with elementary school age students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a clinical, home, or school setting is highly preferred
- Ability to withstand the physical demands of frequent standing, bending, kneeling and therapeutic holding as required

Pay
Non-Exempt Hourly Rate Range: $25.00 to $29.00
