About the role
We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in network architecture to join our presales team supporting strategic enterprise accounts across the Mountain States region. This role is for someone who has transitioned from technical executor to trusted advisor, leading with the client's business problem and applying domain expertise to drive real outcomes. You will own the technical relationship in engagements, proactively shaping account strategy, leading discovery conversations, and helping clients build internal justification for complex network investments. This high-visibility role thrives in an environment where networking is a fast-growing spend category, focusing on outcomes over deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Act as a consultative advisor, leading with business challenges and helping clients rationalize technology decisions against their goals.
- Proactively partner with sellers to shape opportunities upstream, rather than waiting to be called in.
- Bring a forward-looking perspective to clients, helping them anticipate trends and future directions in enterprise networking.
- Own the technical outcome of every engagement, including navigating challenges and ensuring success.
- Contribute to the cultural and technical voice of the region through mentoring, enablement, and visible engagement with the broader engineering community.
- Be intentional about pipeline attribution, focusing on opportunities where you drive the technical outcome and are accountable for results.
- Develop and present architecture proposals, business cases, and options analyses to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Work alongside sales teams to contribute to pipeline development and strategic account growth.
- Lead discovery conversations that connect technology solutions to measurable business outcomes.
- Mentor and lead other engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience providing consultative engineering services for organizations.
- Strong experience designing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate comfortably with C-Level Executives, VPs, and Directors.
- Deep understanding of how clients use technology to meet business objectives.
- Familiarity with local district markets in the Mountain States region.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Ability to lead and mentor other engineers.
- Ability to translate deep technical expertise into simple, everyday language for memorable and educational storytelling.
- Firm grasp on industry trends and the ability to anticipate movements while balancing maturity and timing.
- Motivated self-starter who thrives on solving challenging problems and is comfortable working directly with customers.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Skills
- Core Networking Architecture:
- Data center networking including fabric design, leaf-spine architectures, and interconnect.
- Enterprise campus and branch networking design and deployment.
- WAN architecture including SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco, Meraki, VMware, or equivalent.
- Network automation and programmability including Python, Ansible, and intent-based networking platforms.
- Perimeter and Network Security:
- Firewall architecture and policy design across platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco.
- Network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and zero trust network access principles.
- Secure access and edge security including SASE and SSE familiarity.
- Modern and Emerging Platforms:
- Familiarity with AI-enabling network infrastructure, including high-performance fabrics, low-latency design, and connectivity considerations for GPU cluster deployments.
- Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to network observability, AIOps, and intent-based management platforms.
- Presales and Client Engagement:
- Experience in a presales, consulting, or customer-facing architecture role.
- Comfortable leading discovery and positioning conversations with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Vendor and Partner Ecosystem:
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, VMware by Broadcom.
- Relevant certifications valued but not required: CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, NSE, JNCIE or equivalent.

Pay
Estimated pay range: $170,000 USD - $210,000 USD. Actual salary will be based on factors including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure, certification, and business needs. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, not included in the base salary.
