About the role
Reporting to the Division Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving market growth and expanding sales within the assigned territory by developing and managing customer relationships, building a strong pipeline, and identifying new municipal opportunities. This role manages key accounts, delivers accurate forecasts, and represents Hach at customer visits, trade shows, and events, while collaborating cross-functionally to achieve growth targets and continuous improvements.
Location: Candidates must be located in the New York Metropolitan Area or Long Island to be considered for this position.
Assigned Territory: NY Metro & Long Island
Travel: Approximately 50-70%. Overnight travel will be required to support clients, attend certified training programs, participate in industry seminars, and support regional conferences. Travel accommodations are made via Hach-approved travel agency, and business-related expenses are paid using a company-issued credit card.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow sales within the assigned territory (NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland).
- Prospect and win new clients independently.
- Sell technical products and solutions, often requiring a consultative approach.
- Manage and track the sales pipeline through Salesforce (SFDC), documenting progress, next steps, and customer interactions.
- Present accurate forecasts and funnel reviews, providing leadership with clear insights and actionable strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with engineering firms, key influencers, and municipal decision-makers to drive business growth.
- Represent Hach at customer visits, trade shows, product demonstrations, and industry events while collaborating cross-functionally and sharing best practices to strengthen market leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct sales experience.
- Prior experience in the water industry is required.
- BA or BS degree required; a degree in a science-related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent is an asset.
- B2B experience selling complex automation or process products and solutions, with municipal market experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft tools, plus strong general computer and technology skills.
- Comfort with being on the road and in front of customers most days.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle report that meets Hach Company standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% within the assigned territory (New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, and Rockland County, primarily by car). Occasional travel outside the territory is required for training at headquarters and for annual sales meetings or conferences.

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for commission pay.
