Regional Sales Director - West
About the role

As the Regional Sales Director, you will manage the overall activities of the West coast regional sales team to achieve sales objectives by growing current customer sales volume and securing new customers. You will support the executive team with forecasting, market analysis, and market intelligence. Preferred locations include Dallas, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, and Salt Lake City, UT.
You will manage and develop sales plans for a team of account managers, focusing on long-term planning and selling across multiple lines of business for a defined group of existing clients. You may also be personally responsible for managing major accounts and providing input to strategic decisions affecting your functional area.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of multiple Territory Sales Managers within a designated region to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed gross profit goals.
- Direct achievement of sales objectives including sales revenue, region development, and business development.
- Plan, execute, and manage the team to the P&L.
- Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue targets.
- Ensure sales goals and forecasts align with the company’s 3-year and 10-year goals.
- Lead a sales team to achieve or exceed sales objectives and goals.
- Drive the sales organization with a natural “hunter” sales mentality that is goal-driven and self-motivated.
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to develop selling strategies, marketing campaigns, and other tools required to achieve revenue and gross profit goals.
- Work effectively with operational and administrative departments as needed.
- Create and execute sales strategies aligned with sales leadership and communicate them companywide.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term, professional relationships with customers to grow sales and help customers achieve their growth objectives.
- Maintain the company’s product competitiveness via market and customer research.
- Provide ongoing sales support for customers.
- Develop and/or implement training programs that support existing and new team members' professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, sales, marketing, or communication, or equivalent work experience.
- At least seven years of progressive work experience in a field sales role with a proven track record of selling success, including at least five years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the B2B hydraulics industry is a plus.
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time, based on business need, with some overnight travel.
- Working knowledge of account management solutions.
