About the role

The Regional Sales Director (RSD) leads a team of field sales representatives to achieve regional sales targets for Nevro’s products. This role involves identifying business opportunities, building client relationships, and ensuring effective sales execution to meet or exceed sales forecasts and goals. The RSD reports directly to an Area Vice President (AVP).

Responsibilities

  • Grow the business with current and new customers.
  • Train, coach, and direct District Sales Managers (DSM), Sales Representatives (SR), Associate Sales Representatives (ASR), and Therapy Consultants (TC).
  • Manage fiscal budgetary and asset/inventory responsibilities.
  • Develop and execute a regional business plan identifying opportunities within the current customer base.
  • Formulate sales strategies with direct reports to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Initiate and evaluate corporate pricing agreements to ensure competitive product value.
  • Submit periodic reports detailing activities, sales volumes, and training needs.
  • Ensure the success of sales and marketing plans through efforts directed at sales associates and customers.
  • Prospect for new customers and drive lead follow-up with direct reports.
  • Positively position Nevro’s products and services to existing and new clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies to counter competitors.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with key decision-makers and customers.
  • Train and educate customers on the merits and clinical usage of company products through presentations and demonstrations.
  • Utilize internal platforms to ensure flawless product delivery to clients and patients.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute local educational and sales events to augment business and deliver sales goals.
  • Represent Nevro at industry conferences to gain sales leads and promote the company’s product range.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships within the company to ensure maximum sales support and customer service.
  • Contribute to a strong team effort and recognize competitive products and their strengths.
  • Provide a high level of service with patient outcomes as the highest priority.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire sales and clinical professionals as needed.
  • Visit customers and patients in clinical environments (hospitals, operating rooms, clinics, surgical centers).
  • Communicate with patients and clients after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Travel daily within the region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Minimum of ten years of medical device or medical products sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.

Skills

  • Proven sales management or related leadership success.
  • Leadership and motivation skills demonstrated through involvement in team, fraternal, or philanthropic organizations.
  • Goal setting and implementation skills with a clear record of accomplishments.
  • Operating room sales experience highly desirable.
  • Analytical skills, including statistical analysis, are preferable.
  • Proficiency in PC skills (MS Office/Excel) and experience with sales force automation tools.
  • High empathy and compassion for patients.
  • Adherence to company policies and ethical business conduct.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Pay

Base salary between $125,000 and $150,000, with a bonus variable based on revenue generated in the region. The final starting salary will be determined by evaluating education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, market data, and geography. Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may vary depending on location.
