About the Role

The Regional Sales Director is primarily responsible for driving overall executive direction of the Agency’s performance in the assigned market(s), focusing on premium credits, member growth, and organizational development in accordance with Independent Agency policies and systems. This role manages and develops Regional Sales Managers, supports Agency Coordinators and Independent Agents, and ensures optimal market operation. The Regional Sales Director also assists in developing and delivering training initiatives for Agency Coordinators and Independent Agents.

Responsibilities

  • Field Training and Development
    • Provide in-person support to Independent Agents during sales visits and offer voluntary training or guidance to support the sale of BetterLife products.
    • Develop expertise in all aspects of the Sales Process and remain available for consultation or guidance to Independent Agents and Agency Coordinators.
    • Collaborate on developing targeted training for Agency Coordinators and Independent Agents who request additional development.
    • Work with the Carrier Compliance Department to provide required compliance training.
    • Support Agency Coordinators and Independent Agents in appointment setting as needed.
  • Executive Sales Direction
    • Oversee coordination of sales, training, and operational support for all levels of the sales organization.
    • Help establish the general direction of assigned market(s) and adapt plans to address service gaps or operational challenges.
  • Sourcing
    • Support Regional Sales Managers in sourcing prospective new Independent Agent candidates and independent agencies.
    • Make recommendations on accepting or rejecting candidates for appointment as Independent Agents.
    • Identify targeted training needs with Regional Sales Managers.
  • Administrative Support
    • Ensure customer service requests received at Home Office are handled appropriately.
    • Work with Regional Sales Managers to channel administration and implementation queries appropriately.
    • Support Regional Sales Managers and Independent Agents with sales tools and their implementation.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Analyze and manage performance across all levels (Individual Sales Agents, Agency Leaders, and Agency Coordinators) in the assigned territory.
    • Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure compliant sales practices in accordance with state regulators.
    • Serve as the main conduit to the carrier for service inquiries and operational questions.

Requirements

  • Stable work history and proven success in insurance sales and management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Insurance Sales and Management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills.
  • College Degree preferred.
  • Life, Accident, and Health license required prior to employment date.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This is a remote position requiring regular travel in the field.
  • Performed in an office environment (remote work possible) with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
