Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, develop, and lead a regional sales team (approx. 7-8 reps) to meet or exceed sales goals for AEL.
  • Daily oversight of the region’s business, customer relationships, both internal and external, and maximize profitability.
  • Model Servant Leadership where People, Culture, and Performance are keys to success.
  • Spend 60% of time in the field coaching, mentoring, and developing the team to drive performance and ensure alignment with regional and company strategies.
  • Select, train, and manage activities of territory sales representatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
  • Complete performance evaluations and as needed, conduct disciplinary action up to and termination.
  • Work with Director, Sales Training for new hires and to keep selling skills sharp.
  • Accountable for the region’s overall performance, ensuring representatives meet or exceed sales goals set by management.
  • Oversee efforts of representatives and as needed sell business that is profitable for AEL.
  • Follow all compliance standards and complete all compliance training.
  • Ensure representatives maintain compliance with company and department policies and procedures and provide training as needed.
  • Ensure representatives maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client and/or company records and issues and provide training as needed.
  • Provide a motivating work environment and accurate feedback to staff on performance.

Position Qualifications

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience in laboratory sciences.
  • Preferred - Master’s degree.
  • Minimum - 5 years relevant experience in a sales position or marketing, preferably in a medical reference laboratory environment.
  • At least 2 years of team coaching, leadership experience within healthcare systems and/or clinical laboratories.
  • Experience with building and developing teams.
  • Experience with CRM Operations (HC1).
  • Outstanding coaching skills.
  • To measure performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level executives and key decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven team player.
