Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities
- Hire, train, develop, and lead a regional sales team (approx. 7-8 reps) to meet or exceed sales goals for AEL.
- Daily oversight of the region’s business, customer relationships, both internal and external, and maximize profitability.
- Model Servant Leadership where People, Culture, and Performance are keys to success.
- Spend 60% of time in the field coaching, mentoring, and developing the team to drive performance and ensure alignment with regional and company strategies.
- Select, train, and manage activities of territory sales representatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
- Complete performance evaluations and as needed, conduct disciplinary action up to and termination.
- Work with Director, Sales Training for new hires and to keep selling skills sharp.
- Accountable for the region’s overall performance, ensuring representatives meet or exceed sales goals set by management.
- Oversee efforts of representatives and as needed sell business that is profitable for AEL.
- Follow all compliance standards and complete all compliance training.
- Ensure representatives maintain compliance with company and department policies and procedures and provide training as needed.
- Ensure representatives maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client and/or company records and issues and provide training as needed.
- Provide a motivating work environment and accurate feedback to staff on performance.
Position Qualifications
- Required - Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience in laboratory sciences.
- Preferred - Master’s degree.
- Minimum - 5 years relevant experience in a sales position or marketing, preferably in a medical reference laboratory environment.
- At least 2 years of team coaching, leadership experience within healthcare systems and/or clinical laboratories.
- Experience with building and developing teams.
- Experience with CRM Operations (HC1).
- Outstanding coaching skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level executives and key decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
