Regional Safety Manager

Essential Functions

• Maintain current knowledge of safety trends and practices in the industry to adapt to changing safety environment
• Identify and implement company best practices to create standards in order to continuously improve safety practices
• Manage safety region to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs related to occupational injuries directly related to the construction/manufacturing industry
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures

Communication and Reporting

• Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and/or accidents and prepares reports for informational purposes
• Acts with a sense of fiduciary responsibility
• Presents incident reports for regions and works with operations on dissemination, review, and recommended actions
• Compiles and submits reports required by company management, regulatory agencies (OSHA), which also includes Ad Hoc reporting where necessary

Audit/Compliance

• Performs comprehensive EHS facility and field audits
• Creates corrective action plans based on audit findings and partners with operations for deliverables
• Acts as a subject matter expert on all corporate and governmental regulatory issues within assigned region
• Conducts and facilitates field and facility safety meetings and training

Regional Safety Management (Day to Day Operations)

• Trains and develops regional resources on overall Construction Safety
• Investigates injuries and incidents and develops root cause analysis and corrective action plans
• Documents all Injury and Incident Scenarios, Causes in company EHS information system
• Communicates Injury and Incident Scenario along with Root and Contributing Causes to the organization to facilitate proactive injury and incident avoidance activity
• Manages OSHA citations and investigations within assigned region
• Analyzes metrics and reviews monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus on key areas
• Audits data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations
